Kurt Simons, born 1940 in Uppsala, Sweden, lives and works in Stockholm and Åland. A common label on Simons’ work of art is “geometric abstraction”, an art form with its roots in the concrete art tradition, but which nowadays seek to avoid decorative tendencies. Simons has besides painting, graphics and sculpture also worked as an illustrator and designer (70s and 80s) and filmmaker (60s).
Simons was educated at Beckmans College of Design in the 50s and has since 1977 had 40 solo exhibitions and participated in over 50 group exhibitions. He has amongst others made decorations for SL and KTH and is a member in KRO, SKF and Konstnärsklubben.
